Held in the heart of the city, this free event is a vibrant celebration of te ao Māori, local talent and the power of shared voice.
Under the musical leadership of Jason Te Mete and the Tuatara Collective Choir, and joined by some very special local soloists, Waiata Mai creates a welcoming space where everyone can participate, regardless of experience. Through waiata, storytelling and community spirit, this unique gathering celebrates the cultural richness of Tauranga Moana while fostering connection across generations.
