Tami Neilson Early Release May 20
Multi award-winning country and soul singer/songwriter Tami Neilson is adding Tauranga to an exclusive list of New Zealand performances this year.
She will be performing at Tauranga’s Holy Trinity Church as part of the Tauranga Arts Festival on October 24, with tickets on sale this Friday (May 23).
Tauranga Arts Festival (TAF) General Manager Sarah Cotter says those keen for a fresh dose of Tami’s musical magic should get in fast. She brought the house down when she previously performed at a TAF event, plus her demand seems to be skyrocketing.
“She will be coming to us fresh from some exciting international tours, and shortly after the release of a new album. How lucky we are that she’s added will be adding Tauranga to her tour that will also include Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Nelson,” Sarah says.
Tami is known for her huge, glorious voice and powerful live performances that continue to wow some of country music's biggest names and fans worldwide. Her NZ homecoming concerts will be part of her Neon Cowgirl tour and will follow US performances at the Outlaw Festival Series with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan, and shows in France, Belgium and The Netherlands.
Her new album Neon Cowboy will be released in July and is being dubbed one of the year’s most highly anticipated releases, following the success of singles You’re Gonna Fall, and Borrow My Boots. The album features guests Neil Finn, JD McPherson, Ashley McBryde and Grace Bowers.
Her performances this year will feature songs from Neon Cowgirl and hits across her entire career.

Tami’s NZ tour is being presented by NZ concert promoter Plus1, who say 2025 is proving to be a landmark year for Tami, who’s US tour includes invitations to also perform at the, Merlefest, Willie's Fourth of July Picnic, and The Grand Ole Opry.
