Growing up in a Waikato family, Margaret Wilson DCNZM says she has always been concerned with social justice. Her key concerns became cemented early – the rights of women and equality for all under the law. Reluctant to join a political tribe, she nevertheless became leader of the Labour Party in the turbulent mid-1980s, then a Minister in the Clark government. Margaret talks to Kathryn Ryan about her new book covering 40 years in politics.
