After sell-out seasons and a bunch of festival awards in the U.K, Europe and Australia, the Kransky Sisters are unloading their baggage and bringing their hit show to you.
Venturing far from the dusty-curtained, private world of their old family home in rural Queensland, they bring their darkly funny stories from across the countryside, and uniquely homespun versions of popular tunes heard on the old wireless. The combination of their strange behaviour, blinkered outlooks, superbly droll comic dialogue, and downright hilarious brand of tune make for a night of sheer delight.
The Kransky Sisters cover songs from Nana Mouskouri, The Carpenters, SugaBabes and Pink, to Skyhooks, Steppenwolf, AC/DC, Eurythmics and Talking Heads.
“If Dame Edna ever retired to the Outback and procreated, the result might be something like the Kranskys.”
The Scotsman
“Armed with a tuba, ancient pink keyboard, folksy guitar and saw-violin, their renditions of tunes ranging from Pink Floyd to Jewel are effortlessly funny on their own. Darkly hilarious and discomfortingly clever.”
Beat Magazine
“Simply fantastic. Brooding, gothic and unhealthily co-dependent.”
John Mangin , The Age
“Like the acid-fuelled imagining of Hunter S Thompson at a Country Woman’s Association meeting, this unstuck comic creation is bizarre and precious.”
