Acclaimed poet Bill Manhire founded Victoria University’s lauded creative writing course, now under the auspices of the Institute of Modern Letters of which he is director.
One of his former students is broadcaster and novelist Emily Perkins whose first book, Not Her Real Name, was published in London where it won her the first of her awards. Two of this country’s brightest talents talk about the mechanics of writing, harnessing talent, the hard work and the leaps of inspiration. Bill, this country’s first poet laureate, will also read his poetry.
