Married to their Art

Novelist and broadcaster Emily Perkins, who won this year’s prestigious US Believers prize (for the best work of fiction published in 2008) for Novel About My Wife, is married to artist Karl Maughan.

Karl Maughan's detailed and lush paintings appear in The Painted Garden in New Zealand. They have three children. Karl has a studio outside their Auckland home.
