Hailing originally from Wheeling, West Virginia, Tim O’Brien is one of the most respected bluegrass musicians and songwriter performing around the world today.
He has recorded and played with Steve Earle and The Chieftains and recently toured with Steve Martin. As well as having one of the most fluid and recognisable voices in bluegrass, O’Brien is also a virtuoso player on the mandolin, guitar, fiddle, banjo and bazouki. His songs have been recorded by the Dixie Chicks and Garth Brooks and he won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk in 2005 for his album Fiddler’s Green. Tim will be joined on his first tour to NZ by Trevor Hutchinson (Lunasa, The Waterboys, Eric Bibb) on double bass and Gerry Paul (Gráda) on guitar.
